Responsibilities

The SME will serve as go-to authority and domain expert for CO2 gathering and transportation. SME will be on the forefront of brownfield and greenfield system development and will provide technical support to engineering and operations in the growth of a CO2 transportation network inclusive of pipeline, compression, and pumping systems.

  • Review/advise on facility design and intended operation to ensure short and long-term viability/reliability of assets
  • Support project execution teams during design phase
  • Develop best practices for design and operation of standard CO2 transportation
  • Determine suitable technical solutions to address product specification and transportation concerns
  • Collaborate with operations to provide assistance in start-up/commissioning of CO2 assets
  • Research and source information, as needed, for CO2 extraction and carbon capture that include but are not limited to compression, dehydration, treating, and conditioning
  • Contract evaluation (construction and commercial)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required or equivalent experience
  • 10+ CCUS/Carbon Dioxide and Operations experience, 15+ years in relevant area of expertise
  • Technical understanding of pipeline hydraulics
  • Working knowledge of pipeline design and related industry equipment operations and maintenance codes and practices, measurement and Cathodic protection, compression design, gas conditioning and dehydration design, system planning / optimization, gas and liquid pipeline hydraulics, processing and fractionation operation
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills to effectively translate and communicate complex technical information and risk to all levels of internal and external organizations
  • Self-motivated and requires little supervision
  • Team-oriented
  • Must be willing to travel to field/job locations as needed
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and communications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
