Responsibilities

The Crude Systems Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining crude system hydraulic models based on forward looking Commercial volume forecasts and current operational conditions. Successful management of the crude hydraulic models will require close collaboration with Commercial, Operations, Pipeline Control, and Asset Engineering groups. The Crude Systems Engineer will incorporate volume forecasts into the hydraulic model and recommend gathering and/or transmission infrastructure expansions. Infrastructure will typically include low pressure pipeline design and routing, LACT sizing and design, tankage expansions, and high-pressure pumping/transmission pipeline expansions. Additionally, the Crude Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting development of cost estimates for new Business Development opportunities as well as ongoing smaller scale infrastructure expansions and gas/crude system optimization. This position will also provide day-to-day support for Operations and Project Management personnel in the crude systems.

  • Hydraulic analysis EnLink crude gathering and transmission systems
  • Pipeline, LACT, tankage, and high-pressure pumping sizing, specification, and cost estimation
  • Primary engineering support for evaluation of new Crude Commercial opportunities
  • Project scope and basic project economic evaluation
  • Contract evaluation support (construction and commercial)
  • Cost estimating and generation of AFE’s, directly or in supporting role
  • System optimization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, chemical, petroleum, or mechanical preferred
  • Crude gathering design or project management experience required, 2 – 5 years preferred
  • Proficiency in software such as BRE Promax and DNV Synergi preferred
  • Working knowledge of pipeline design and related industry equipment operations and maintenance codes and practices, measurement and Cathodic protection, system planning / optimization, crude and NGL pipeline hydraulics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of an organization
  • Self-motivated and requires little supervision
  • Team-oriented
  • Must be willing to travel to field/job locations as needed
